There were two winter carnivals in West Carleton-March this weekend. Councillor Kelly and his family were pleased to pay a visit to both on Saturday, Feb. 8th.
My family and I kicked off the weekend yesterday with a delicious pancake breakfast, cooked and served up by the dedicated firefighters at Station 62 at the Fitzroy Winter Carnival. We got to check out some snow pitch and Outdoor Hockey League action as well, which was Heather-Lina’s favourite part. It was an awesome event, filled with entertainment and activities. Thanks to the Fitzroy Harbour Community Association and the volunteers for a great time.

Also on Saturday, after enjoying the fun in Fitzroy, we headed to downtown West Carleton, the Village of Carp, where the volunteers at the Huntley Community Association were very busy cooking up bacon on a bun, and serving maple taffy. We also enjoyed some time by the fire, a skate, and a sleigh ride. An absolutely beautiful winter day brought to you by our hard working friends and neighbours who run and support our community associations.
