Closure of Highway 417 Westbound On-ramps at Kinburn Side Road Scheduled For This Week

Provincial Notice for Upcoming Closure of Kinburn On-Ramps:
*** UPDATE!!! Following up on this post from May 26, GIP Paving has informed us that they will be closing the Highway 417 westbound on-ramps at Kinburn Side Road sometime between 8 pm tonight (May 27) and 6 am tomorrow (May 28).
As part of MTO Contract 2024-4052, GIP Paving will be closing the Highway 417 westbound on ramps at Kinburn Side Road (N-W and S-W, IC169) during the paving of the highway passing lane due to there not being adequate room to maintain a speed acceleration lane for merging on to the highway while paving operations are underway directly beside the ramps.
The ramps will be re-opened once the paving operation has progressed past the ramp locations and the acceleration lanes are able to be delineated safely. The ramp locations correspond to the diagram at the end of this notice.
Due to unknowns related to the weather which could delay paving work, an exact night for the operation which requires the ramp closures is not known at this time. We presently expect the closure to occur between the nights of ***May 26th and ***May 29th. An email will be provided once the night of the closure is known.

Ramp Closures
Single lane closures of Highway 417 EBL and WBL will be in effect for the duration of the construction project from April 28th, 2025 to Fall 2025. The traffic control will consist of advance signage and TC-54 traffic barrels. The daily permitted times for the closures on the highway are as follows for each direction:
Eastbound Lanes
Sunday; 20:00 – 23:59
Monday to Thursday; 00:00 – 06:00, 09:00 – 23:59
Friday; 00:00 – 06:00, 09:00 – 14:00
Saturday; Not Permitted
Westbound Lanes
Sunday; 20:00 – 23:59
Monday to Thursday; 00:00 – 14:00, 18:00 – 23:59
Friday; 00:00 – 14:00
Saturday; Not Permitted
The location of paving works where lane closures are expected is from 0.7km West of Campbell Drive IC to 1.6km East of Panmure Road IC.
Traffic Impacts:
Traffic can anticipate delays westbound while traffic will be using the next interchange.
During these ramp closures, access to Highway 417 Westbound from Kinburn Side Road will be restricted. Traffic is advised to follow the posted signage to the next available interchange. Access to and from the eastbound direction will not be impacted by this closure.
