Community Volunteers & Leaders Honoured With Commemorative 200th Anniversary Coins

This week, I was very pleased to honour some of our amazing volunteers and community leaders in West Carleton-March by presenting them with special commemorative coins that mark the City's 200th anniversary
Thank you to Mayor Mark Sutcliffe for joining this celebration, and congratulations to the following volunteers and leaders in Ward 5:
Mary Braun – the long-time executive director at the West Carleton Food Bank. Mary’s heart and dedication have kept things moving for local residents during their most difficult times. Mary has run the food bank without the benefit of grocery store donation boxes and has worked tirelessly to ensure those in need are served.
Dee Staigh- Dee and her team of volunteers have a unique service operating out of the West Carleton Community Complex. She provides a free clothing service for anyone in need, whether it be for a special occasion, job interview, or daily wear. Her clothing bank has become an important resource in the community.
Wendy and Warren Lathem – Wendy and Warren have been household names in the Carp area for decades. Whether it's fundraising and working to establish the WEJ arena, or maintaining the outdoor rink, supporting youth sport, or pitching in anytime volunteers are needed, the Lathems have been there.
Ken Holmes – a long-time member of the West Carleton-March community, Ken has dedicated his time and his knowledge to a variety of areas. He was one of the City’s Rural Champions for the Rural Summit, is heavily involved in improving transit for rural residents, and is always ready to lend his time.
Shirley Dolan – long-time resident with an interest in environmental issues. Shirley dedicated many hours of her time and talent as a Rural Champion for the Rural Summit. Shirley is thoughtful and always willing to step up and support her community.
