Another great loss to our community last week. Anton Reitsma, a 50-year rural sector firefighter at Station 62 in Fitzroy Harbour, passed away on Feb. 4, 2026, at the age of 85. It is with great sadness that I share the loss of another great West Carleton-March resident, Jack Shaw. He was the last Reeve in Fitzroy Township before its amalgamation to West Carleton Township.
