Dec 8: Community Info Session For Residents With Dry or Low Water Wells in Winter Season

Please be advised that we'll be hosting a Community Information Session: Dry and Low Water Wells – Winter Season on Monday, December 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This session will be open to any resident who is interested in attending. Here is the agenda for the meeting:


Community Information Session: Dry and Low Water Wells – Winter Season

  1. Welcome and Introductions

    (Councillors)


  2. Purpose of the Meeting and How It Will be Run

    (Councillors)


  3. Information Updates/Formal Short Presentations

    • Conservation Authorities: Current watershed conditions, seasonal outlook, and key factors influencing forecasts

    • City of Ottawa: City roles and responsibilities, available supports, well safety and water testing, and winter rink considerations in affected areas

    • Province: Placeholder (pending confirmation of their participation)


  4. Resident Discussion and Questions

    What are your concerns? Any best practices or experiences to share?

    (City staff and Councillors will answer what we can and take back other items for consideration)


  5. Wrap-Up and Next Steps

    (Summary and follow-up communications to be shared by Councillors and the City)


Residents and organizations can join using this Zoom meeting link.

 

The session will include an update from the conservation authorities on current conditions. The City will also provide information on operational considerations.

 

Representatives from the following groups will be in attendance:

·        Conservation authorities

·        Several City departments

·        Ottawa Public Health

·        Councillor offices

 

A question-and-answer period will take place near the end of the session.
