As we continue to face the challenges brought on by rising water levels, I wanted to take a moment to provide an update.
My sincere hope is that the water begins to drop soon, but it looks like levels along the Ottawa River are expected to stay right where they are for the next 3 days at least. With rain on the way, I continue to encourage those living in flood-prone areas to closely monitor levels and forecasts over the coming days and have a plan for action should it be required.
If you require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office or visit westcarletonrelief.ca. For the latest update from the ORPB, follow this link: OttawaRiver.ca.
We had a few requests for more bags over the weekend on Armitage, and I would like to extend a huge thank you to Sean Foley and Malwood for their assistance in getting a few thousand filled sandbags to the folks in Dunrobin on Saturday.
The volunteer base was small that day, but Malwood made short work out of what could have been a very long day for those of us loading sandbags.
