July 29, 2026 Update From the City of Ottawa's Infrastructure and Water Services Department
Due to the addition of emergency repairs resulting from the Canada Day storm, there are moderate but localized traffic disruptions associated with several ongoing projects occurring in close proximity to one another.

Due to construction window constraints, we anticipate an overlap of lane closures/reductions that is expected to last approximately 3 to 4 days.
In short:
• Resurfacing work began on Cameron Harvey today (Jul 29).
• The emergency work on March Valley continues and the road is expected to re-open by Friday July 31st at the latest.
• Facilities work on Cameron Harvey are to coordinate with or follow the resurfacing works on Cameron Harvey.
• Ongoing private works are being completed by Cavanagh Construction Limited.
We have been coordinating with all relevant City project teams to expedite work wherever possible and to confirm schedules to minimize the duration of these impacts. In addition, we are working with private developers to determine if a reduction of traffic impacts on March Road is possible during this period, including minimizing lane reductions and flagging operations wherever feasible. This coordination is ongoing.
We recognize that these concurrent activities are not ideal. However, significant efforts have been made to reduce impacts to our Ward and to shorten the overlap period as much as possible.
If you have questions about this issue or any other City matter, my team and I are always happy to help. We are here to support residents and will continue working with you to navigate issues, answer questions, and connect you with the resources you need.
